Pascal oversees latrine being completed in Kibera

Pascal oversees latrine being completed in Kibera

Well I have been enjoying my time back in the states, although the pace has been pretty slow, even at this hectic time of year. I was able to visit friends at IHM school and get caught up on donations and acknowledgments. At home I travel to Panera daily to use their internet connection and am looking over some grant opportunities. I am also assisting one of my Kenyan friends with an online college application.

I got a call from Fred, the Maasai from Kenya. He left a message on the answering machine ā€œI’m Fred.ā€ Not many answering machines in his area of Kenya but I am proud he was able to call all the way from Africa. I called him back and found that things were going well, although no rain. They had the Youth Activity day we schedule three times a year at the school break. They had close to 200 students attend! Food, singing and dancing filled the day.

Pascal also wrote to tell me that the sweaters the foundation purchased are ready for pick up and the latrine we are funding in Kibera is being dug! Both of these projects are for a school in the slum we visited recently. Things are going well!
